Erica's New Garden
In March of 2025 I downsized from a five hundred year old cottage with a well-established garden to a new-build house with a blank canvas of a garden. It’s smaller than the previous one which was exactly what I wanted as I’d decided I needed an easier garden to manage, after all I’m not getting any younger!
I brought lots of acers and hydrangeas with me when I moved – they’d all been in pots in the last garden – and I used them to create the backbone of this new space. I’ve done my best to create something that will be easy to maintain but, me being me, I have of course gradually extended the borders as time went by so I could accommodate yet more plants, roses in particular. I’ve lost count how many roses I’ve planted but I suspect there’s still plenty of room for more!
